If you want to see change, you have to change what you are doing. Changing our daily routine can be a challenge within itself because it is so comfortable. Challenge yourself to reach outside of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to push beyond where you think your limits are.
We can become very set in our ways and very comfortable with what we do everyday. However, that comfort will keep us in the same spot–no progress, no forward movement. If you have goals that are ahead of you, you need to do something different. Do the things that are not fun. Do the things that probably hurt a little. Do the things that you don’t want to do because it isn’t part of your routine.
How Can I Challenge Myself Daily?
Think of a small goal you are working towards. What is one small part of your day that you can change to work towards that goal? For example, you want to create a regular exercise habit however life is busy and you just can’t seem to get yourself to the gym after work. Challenge: set your alarm for 30 minutes earlier, wake up without hitting snooze, and get 30 minutes of bodyweight exercises done at home. Yes, it is hard to wake up early. Yes, you want to sleep longer. Challenge yourself to do the things that will move you toward your goal!
What Are You Willing to Sacrifice?
Are you willing to make sacrifices for your goals? Are you willing to do all that it takes? If not, don’t be discouraged, just adjust your goals. If you do not want to wake up early and you are not willing to set your alarm 30 minutes sooner, adjust your goals. Become a day time exerciser. If you have 1 hour for lunch, take 30 minutes of that lunch and get moving!
Challenge yourself daily. Find comfort in the uncomfortable. Push beyond the limits you have set for yourself.
