Hello! Sorry I was M.I.A. during September…I was full force in the No Equipment, No Excuses challenge on Instagram (were you?). Well, now we are into football season and I’m ready to get cooking again! I’ve got some football food in store for you: chicken wings. Football and chicken wings are just the perfect pair, agree?

Below, you will find recipes for two different chicken wings flavors and a yummy yogurt dipping sauce. It is all about simplicity with these healthy, gluten free finger foods!

The Easy Way to Cook

I’m all about simplicity (you may have noticed) and I think you can keep things easy in the kitchen while still making a delicious meal. You just need to have a careful look at ingredients while you are at the grocery store. For instance, I used frozen chicken wings and a pre-mixed Greek seasoning in this recipe. They taste great, there aren’t a million terrible ingredients, and the food was so easy to cook!

Keep things simple in the kitchen. Don’t overwhelm yourself with ingredients and macros and calories. Three simple rules I like to follow:

  1. Veggies in at least 2 meals a day
  2. Minimal packaged foods (and carefully read the packages I do buy)
  3. Eat at home 5-6 nights a week

These are my go-to rules when it comes to cooking and it keeps me healthy, clean, and not overwhelmed when it gets time to cook dinner.

Chicken Wings and Football

So now that it is football season, you are probably also engulfed in the games on Sunday. Here is an easy recipe to make while you are watching the game. The chicken wings take about 50 minutes to cook so just make the sauces while they cook and then enjoy the game! Chicken wings and football–like two peas in a pod.

Chicken wings flavors: Greek (paired with yogurt dill sauce) and Cilantro Lime (paired with ranch)

Chicken Wings (Greek + Yogurt dill sauce, Cilantro Lime)

    Greek wings
  • 1 package of frozen chicken wings
  • 1-2 tbsp Greek Seasoning ( I used Konrikos)
  • Yogurt Sauce
  • 1 single serve package of plain Greek yogurt (approx. 5oz)
  • 1 tbsp chopped dill
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped cucumber
  • 2 cloves minces garlic
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Cilantro Lime wings
  • 1 package frozen chicken wings
  • Cilantro Lime sauce
  • 1/2c chopped cilantro
  • 4 tsp lime juice
  • 1 clove chopped garlic
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • dash of red pepper
  • 1/4c olive oil


    Greek Wings and Yogurt Dill Sauce
  • Spread wings on foil-lined baking sheet and bake as package directs.
  • While chicken wings are cooking, place all yogurt dill sauce ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until well all ingredients are well-mixed. Refrigerate until serving.
  • Place greek seasoning in a large bowl.
  • When chicken wings are cooked, place wings in the bowl with seasoning (using tongs!). Toss wings in seasoning until evenly coated.
  • Serve immediately with yogurt sauce
  • Cilantro Lime Wings
  • Spread wings on foil-lined baking sheet and bake as package directs.
  • While wings are cooking, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix together.
  • While continuously whisking ingredients, slowly pour olive oil into bowl small amount at a time. Whisk as you pour until all ingredients are mixed together.
  • When wings are done, place wings in bowl with cilantro lime sauce. Gently toss until all chicken wings are coated.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite dip (pictured with ranch)
